See New York Times article May 13th on the sale of Andy Warhol's photo booth self portrait! Sold for 38.4 million. Also New York Times "Travel" Section September 11 2011. I have painted at the beach where the "Atlantic Grill" is located. The author of the article missed a few beautiful spots. Too bad!

The completed view of "Ocean Life Guards" Has been posted. Check it out at the subtitled section Jersey Shore Series.
In the coming year I will explore a new series of work. The paintings will include vistas and people ( see note below) of the Jersey Shore. I hope to portray scenes of the beach and the boardwalk including PHOTO BOOTH IMAGES.

Check out "The Butcher's Art"
Check out my painting of Joe Maresca at this site under the heading ARTWORK.. "People, Places and Things". I painted in Maresca's butcher shop, capturing Joe and Emil at their trade in Sergeantsville, NJ. Jim Hamilton (father in the piece) helped me design my studio. Ms Hamilton the food author of "Blood Bones and Butter" comments:
"...my life has suddenly become nearly out of control. in any event, i ... LOVE the joe maresca painting. thank you so so much! hope we get to meet some day.
all the very best to you!" gabrielle hamilton Feb 28 2011 (12:34am)

In the meantime please check out "REVIEWS" in the master heading for an art critics reaction to my work, and "NEWS" to see the reaction of a Gallery curator to the Photo Booth Paintings.

Review
"Fish, Fowl, Hills & Beaches"
"There's a riot of color on the walls of the usually quiet and decorous garden dining room at The Nassau Club in Princeton and Princeton artist Betty Curtiss is to blame. Sixteen of her vibrant oil paintings are hung there, sometimes singly and sometimes in a relational grouping."

My previous work has taken me to a dairy farm with minimum security prisoners, a butcher shop with skilled butchers and out in the fields and hills of New Jersey in Hunterdon, Delaware and Mercer Counties.

Please join with me as over the course of the year when the weather turns warmer. I will be on the boardwalk doing sketches and Plein Air paintings of all of you at PLAY!
So look through my folders to see what I have been up to and Enjoy!
